A Room of Ones Own

A room of one's own

Easel Gallery
6-25th May 2023

Virginia Woolf's essay "A Room of One's Own," explores the idea of the importance of physical and mental space for women to pursue their creative endeavours.

I explore the concept of a room of one's own from internal and external perspectives. 'The Room' can be thought of in the context of being ourselves, we are our 'own room' our physical body, our mental and spiritual, our individual bodies carrying the culmination of life’s experiences and environmental exposures carried in our DNA.

External, considering our room in the broader context of the world, exploring our relationship to nature, the room being this planet, and considering our environmental responsibilities.
