So delighted, my work Ferric Coruscation won the Kumeu Art Award! A big thank you to the Judge, Claire Ulenberg, and to Jago, Yvonne, all the volunteers at Kumeu Arts and of course the sponsors.

Ferric - of or containing iron.
Coruscation - to give forth flashes of light; sparkle, glimmer, glint

This work is painted in acrylic over rust paint, giving it the curuscation

Macular Degeneration Fundraiser

I was delighted to be invited as one of two artists to submit a work for the Macular Degeneration Fundraising event held at the Kelliher Art Trust Gallery last week.
My work, Riparian Restitution, sold at auction generating a good contribution toward this important cause. Getting to meet the new owners it was a delight to hear about their involvement in the riparian restitution of the local urban stream by their home.

Macular Degeneration effects 1 person in 7 over 50 and if it is diagnosed soon enough it can be treated and preserve your eyesight. http://www.mdnz.org.nz
