Artists Statement
My work, ‘Drawn in Sediment’, won the The Walker & Hall Art Award, a prestigious national art award held annually at Waiheke Community Art Gallery, announced on the 19th October 2024.
The Awards evening was a blast. A fantastic opportunity to meet up with so many excellent artists and see their work, some familiar faces and some new ones in such a gorgeous venue. My thanks goes out to Gallery Director, Fiona Blanchard, and the team who created, curated and hosted this exhibition, and the Judge, Mary-Louise Brown (artist and Two Rooms Director), and Jenny Todd, (Two Rooms Gallery Director).
Walker and Hall have been partners and supporters of the Gallery and sponsored these Art Awards for over 20 years. It was a privilege to meet Joe Tattersfield, Managing Director of Walker and Hall.
